Descendants 2 is a Disney Channel Original Movie that premiered on July 21, 2017 on Disney Channel, and was simulcast on Disney-owned networks ABC, Disney XD, Freeform, Lifetime and Lifetime Movies. It is the sequel to the 2015 film Descendants. The film stars Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart, Sofia Carson, Mitchell Hope and China Anne McClain.
Six months after the original film, Ben, now king of Auradon, attempts to help Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay further adjust to life in Auradon. However, when Mal cracks under pressure to be royally perfect and returns to the Isle of the Lost, Evie, Carlos and Jay must help disguise Ben so they can return to the Isle and find her. Also, Mal is shocked to find Uma (China Anne McClain), Ursula's daughter, and her friends, Harry (Thomas Doherty), Captain Hook's son, and Gil (Dylan Playfair), Gaston's son, have taken her place as ruler of the island.
