The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature is an upcoming 2017 American-Canadian-Korean 3D computer-animated comedy adventure film directed by Cal Brunker and written by Cal Brunker, Bob Barlen and Scott Bindley. It is the sequel to the 2014 film The Nut Job. The film stars Will Arnett, Gabriel Iglesias, Jeff Dunham, Katherine Heigl, Maya Rudolph, Jackie Chan, Bobby Moynihan, Bobby Cannavale and Peter Stormare. Produced by Gulfstream Pictures, Redrover International and ToonBox Entertainment, the film is scheduled to be released theatrically on August 18, 2017, by Open Road Films.

Surly (Will Arnett) and the park animals must band together to prevent Oakton City's crooked mayor (Bobby Moynihan) from bulldozing Liberty Park and replacing it with a dangerous amusement park.

• Will Arnett as Surly, a purple squirrel who alongside his rat sidekick Buddy was at first loathed by his folks of the park, but is now considered a hero for saving them from a dire food shortage that he unintentionally caused.


• Gabriel Iglesias as Jimmy, a groundhog who is Johnny and Jamie's brother and the leader of the Bruisers (which merely consists of him and his siblings).


• Jeff Dunham as Mole, a mole who now works for Andie.


• Katherine Heigl as Andie, a compassionate red squirrel and Surly's best friend.


• Maya Rudolph as Precious, a pug that was formerly owned by the criminals Lucky and Fingers.


• Jackie Chan as Mr. Feng, the territorial leader of a street mouse gang.


• Bobby Moynihan as the as-yet-unnamed Mayor of Oakton City who plans to replace Liberty Park with a faulty amusement park.


• Bobby Cannavale as Frankie, the mayor's pet French bulldog.


• Peter Stormare as Gunther, a deranged animal control officer.
